Dark Mode
Breaking barriers and defining what's possible.
Problem
The United States is facing a significant shortage of tech workers, including technicians, computer scientists, and engineers. According to a survey by Wiley, 69% of human resources professionals in the U.S. said their organization has a skills gap, up from 55% in 2021. The skills gap is a mismatch between the knowledge an employer needs and the capabilities of their employees.
Our Solution
Dark Mode is a workforce development company that upskills professionals in rural communities near mid-market cities
2024
Our 2024 strategy includes dialing down on social impact and education in the community, operating at the hyperlocal level, building and growing our community. We will complete 2 cohorts of our 12-week Intro to UX Design Bootcamp with 40 students and get 2.4 Million in total salaries. We will offer live in-person courses, video-on-demand courses, and 2-hour training in UX Design and AI Prompt Engineering. Video-on-demand courses will be sold to other Workforce development companies and HBCUs seeking specialized computing courses. We also have plans to launch a complete curriculum for Cybersecurity in 2025. At Dark Mode, we will continue to engage with stakeholders such as students, workforce development professionals, HR and talent professionals, philanthropic leaders, corporate responsibility professionals, and non-profit leaders that align with our vision.

What's next for us ?
We're gearing up to introduce a 12-week UX lighting course, tailored to enhance our members' skills and pave the way for technical roles. Set against the backdrop of the vibrant North Eastern University Southend venue, this program promises a harmonious blend of theoretical insights, hands-on training, and individual project work, primarily harnessing Figma as the design platform. Moreover, we're proud to bring in diverse experts from industry giants like Bank of America, Microsoft, and Credit Karma to lead as instructors. To ensure the utmost success for our participants, we're actively seeking funding to onboard a Director of Student Success who will manage daily class operations. We're thrilled to announce that our pioneering program will debut at North Eastern University in Black History Month 2024.
