Dating for golfers.
My ex got me into golf. S/O to her.
What started as a weekly date night turned into a full-blown hyperfixation. I'm in multiple group chats about it now. I'm enrolled in lessons. I flew out for a Jordan Brand golf event because that's just where I'm at with this now. If you've caught the golf bug, you know there's no clean way to explain it to people who haven't — it just becomes the thing.
Somewhere in that spiral, I started paying attention to what was happening around golf, not just on the course. The culture has grown up. It's not just country clubs and pro shops anymore — there's a whole layer of local lifestyle communities, and brands like Aberdeen West, Hypegolf, and Swang building real identity around the game. Golf became cool in a way that snuck up on a lot of us.
And once something's cool, dating and flirting show up right behind it. That part's inevitable. People are meeting on the range, DMing after group outings, low-key sizing each other up over a shared cart. It's happening whether there's an app for it or not.
So naturally, my brain did the thing where it looks at a growing space and goes "what's missing here." Everyone else building in this world was going after clubs, trackers, or apparel. I looked at all of it and thought — nah, I'm building a dating app. HA. Of all the directions to take a golf hyperfixation, apparently mine was "romance."
But here's what actually bothered me about existing dating apps applied to golf: you match, you exchange a few messages, and then you still have to do the awkward dance of figuring out when you're both free and where you're actually going to meet. That's the part that kills momentum. Matches don't play rounds. Plans play rounds.
So that's what I built around. You swipe, and when it's mutual, you're not just left with a match — you book a tee time, a range session, or find an event, right there in the app. You and your match walk away with plans already on the calendar, not just a conversation that might fizzle out before anyone suggests a time.
That's the whole bet: less swiping into the void, more actual tee times. I'll share more as this comes together — for now, back to the range.
