Mad Miles Running App

Led a group of UX students to solve a problem for a local run club.

Problem

Since its founding in 2019 by Cornell W. Jones, Mad Miles Run Club has become a flourishing community, attracting over 80,000+ followers on Instagram and a global audience. Although they have a large online community they are only able to generate revenue at their in person events, they track their attendants using qr codes, and spread awareness of their events through several online platforms making for a disjoint experience.

Goal

The club aims to expand its offerings and increase revenue while delivering added value to its members. Your task is to conduct a comprehensive user research case study to uncover potential revenue-generating opportunities.

Objective

To explore, identify, and propose strategies for revenue generation for Mad Miles Run Club by understanding and enhancing the user experience of its global community of runners.

I created this as an assignment for a UX Bootcamp for Dark Mode I ran in Q1 2024. We had 2 senior instructors and 12 students with no professional background in UX. While students learned about UX they applied their skills to this real world assignment. This assignment was designed to immerse students in a real-world case study, challenging them to apply user research techniques in a business context. It aims to foster skills in market research, strategic thinking, and innovative problem-solving in the field of sports and community engagement.

This resulted in 12 different solutions for the client.
